OVERVIEW

Kept strong. Kept working.

The dragline boom, the truck body, the conveyor gantry, the bin. Steel that never gets an easy shift, cracking where nobody can see it. When it lets go, the real cost is not the repair. It's the production that halts while the site waits for an answer.

Handing that problem to Novantum feels like watching it leave site. We take the duty, the damage, the drawings, and the machine goes back to work stronger and safer than it failed.

SCOPE
Mobile plant

Draglines, excavators and haul trucks take punishment no fixed structure sees. This is the deep end of our mining work.

  • Booms, sticks, buckets, bodies and chassis, assessed for cracking and fatigue
  • Repair and modification design beyond the OEM manual
  • New equipment, attachments and work tools, designed from a clean sheet
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, sized, routed and specified for dust, heat and vibration
Materials handling

Ore moves on structures that run flat out for years on end. We design what keeps it moving.

  • Conveyor gantries, trusses and support structures, fatigue-checked and rerated
  • Transfer towers, chutes, bins and hoppers, designed for the loads and wear they take
  • Stockpile, stacker and reclaim structures
Fixed plant and structures

Processing structures carry dynamic load around the clock. We make sure the capacity and the connections still hold what production is counting on.

  • Crusher stations, screen houses and process-plant structural steel
  • Tailings infrastructure steelwork, pipe racks and supports
  • Platforms, walkways and access to AS 1657
Fitness for service

When an asset is ageing, the real question is whether it earns its place another year. We make that answer stand up.

  • Structural capacity and integrity assessment
  • Fatigue life against the duty already accumulated
  • The case to extend service life, repair, replace or retire
Reliability and maintenance

Uptime is the requirement. We design for it.

  • Components and repairs designed for reliability and maintainability
  • FMEA and RAM studies, for new designs and plant in service
  • Maintenance plans and inspection intervals from RCM studies, reset when the duty changes
  • Condition monitoring specified and interpreted, so maintenance follows the machine, not the clock
  • Repeat failures investigated to root cause, corrective actions tracked through FRACAS
Repairs and modifications

Plant rarely comes offline when it suits. We design the fix to the window the site can give, and the decommissioning when an asset comes out for good.

  • Repair and reinforcement design, substantiated by analysis
  • Modifications and upgrades to plant in service
  • Scoped to the shutdown window, drawings ready before it starts
Safety and compliance

Heavy plant and the people who work around it share the same floor. We engineer that boundary to the standard.

  • Guarding and access design and review to AS 4024
  • Risk assessment, and controls that eliminate or minimise the risk so far as is reasonably practicable
  • Independent design review and compliance assessment
ENGAGEMENT

Start with the asset in question.

Tell us what the inspection found, what the next shutdown has to get through, or what the site needs built. With Novantum on it, the job is treated like production. It comes to us and stays until it is finished. The site gets its head back to running the mine.
